Your truth, your way.

Therapists who specialising in working with marginalised people and relationships, including LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, kinky, racialised, fat, polyamorous and D/s dynamics.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Country on which we work and live. We recognise the land was never ceded and the ongoing sovereignty they hold for the waters, lands, sky, and creatures. We recognise the Elders past and present and support those Elders who are still to come. We recognise the harm done to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People historically and enduring by white people and the bureaucratic and capitalistic systems which they brought with them. We recognise that this always was and always will be Aboriginal land.

Centres People Who Have Experienced Marginalisation

We specialise in counselling for people who have experiences of marginalisation, including but not limited to LGBTIQA+, neurodivergent, fat, disabled, and racialised people.

Lived/Living Experience Perspectives

Kitchen Table Counselling centres the lived and living experiences of all people. We know we aren’t going to be the experts in your life but we are here to walk the journey alongside you as people with our own lived and living experiences of marginalisation and mental ill health.

Why does it cost so much?

Living within the scope of capitalism, and as disabled queer people, we unfortunately have to charge fees that allow us to support ourselves to live, pay rent, and seek appropriate care. In addition, the fees paid for a session include time spent outside of sessions on training and upskills, supervision and attending conferences to ensure we are able to maintain being the best therapists to support you.

Do you support NDIS participants?

We can provide support for people who have funding for therapy in the Capacity Building part of their plan. At this stage, we can only support people who are plan-managed or self-managed.

Cancellation policy

Appointments cancelled with more than 48 hours’ notice will not incur a cancellation fee.

Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice prior to the appointment require the full cost of the session to be paid.
